leneb was raised in Jersey City, NJ. Jersey City sits close to the Statue of Liberty, which has its oxidized back turned to it. leneb's first video was for the funny, hyperspeed NYC garage band The Sea Monkeys. The video was cut with two VCRs. Later discovered to be an avant-garde editing method called Crash Cutting, leneb simply didn't have any editing gear at the time.

Fast Forward 3 years and he had a BA in Filmmaking and Culture from the University of California, Santa Cruz; had co-produced a documentary called *Growing Hope: Homeless Garden Projects, Narrated by Harrison Ford* and by 2000 had several films screening nationaly and internationally. Of note were the short films, with the collaboration of the masterful Syd Garon, *You Genki*, based on a solo sojourn to Tokyo and *pop-corn*, an examination of the light and life of a San Francisco MUNI train. During this time, leneb chronicled his steady wandering in three Zines, *I Wish My Mother Had Stayed in the Convent*, *I'll Never Be Cool* and the wonderfully comical *Karaoke Shock Boy*, a Tokyo narrative. In San Francisco he honed his visual arts skills as a Medical Photographer, shooting surgeries and autopsies. He also did a stint in the broadcast department of the storied Levi's ad agency Foote, Cone + Belding.

In 2001 he moved to Los Angeles to persue a Master's Degree in Directing from the UCLA Film School. Employing his actual family members in his early films often enraged and mystified the faculty but with a background in documentary and experimental film he always saw fictional narrative as wonderful form to inject naturalism into.

From as far back as 1993, he has often collaborated with the talented Northern Californian Digital Artist Spencer Lindsay. Lindsay has supplied everything from crashing football helmets, animated hallucinagenic stars and more traditional green screen work for leneb's often offbeat, always creative films and commercials.
